The Aubreys
The Aubreys are the collective musical project of Finn Wolfhard (Stranger Things, It) and Malcolm Craig. Meeting on the set of PUP’s “Guilt Trip” video and inspired in their childhoods by bands such as Nirvana and Pavement, Wolfhard and Craig have been playing music together since they were 11 years old. In November 2021, The Aubreys released their first full studio album, Karaoke Alone. The album is synthy but guitar driven, leaning into the band’s danceable neo-psychedelic alt-rock roots. The band performed for their first live audience at the renowned rock festival Shaky Knees in Atlanta and was featured on the cover of Alternative Press Magazine. Karaoke Alone is a follow-up to The Aubreys’ first official EP entitled Soda & Pie, which consisted of three songs and was released in March 2020. During the pandemic, The Aubreys released several standalone singles including “Smoke Bomb,” “No Offerings,” and “Sand In My Bed.” The band also contributed “Getting Better (Otherwise)” to the soundtrack for The Turning, the 2020 supernatural horror film also starring Wolfhard. The band’s latest single “Kato” was released in July, with more new music in the works.
