Winner of the Next Wave Film Festival’s Battle of the Scores, TIFF is excited to welcome daydream to the Festival Street Music Stage!

Once upon a time in the vibrant city of Brampton, Canada, three musically gifted amigos found themselves on a journey they never could have imagined. Aarav, the guitar guru, Tarun, the production prodigy, and Adi, the bass-bumping maestro, were inseparable buddies since their high school days. Enter Mashraful, a vocal powerhouse, with a voice so reminiscent of Shawn Mendes, it caused you to do a double-take.

Their music serves up a tantalizing blend of pop, rock, and R&B, garnished with an abundance of modernized synths. They draw inspiration from trending pop artists who rule the charts, while simultaneously dipping into the well of nostalgia for legendary acts like The Beatles and Queen.

Their journey began with humble gigs at school performances like CPSS Arts Alive, where they would charm their fellow students with irresistible tunes. But these four ambitious souls dared to dream bigger, a challenge that led them to participate in the prestigious TIFF Next Wave Battle of the Scores competition. And guess what? They confidently conquered the contest! Now, brace yourselves, because daydream is all set to rock the stage at the TIFF Next Wave Block Party, where they’ll take Festvial Street by storm!

With three smashing singles already under their belt and an EP in the works, there’s no telling where their sonic odyssey will take them next.
